KOZHIKODE: A walk-in-test followed by interview based on the test will be held for the selection of Junior Research Fellows at the Indian Institute of Spices Research at Marikunnu, near here, at 9.30 a.m. on May 4.
The Junior Research Fellows are selected for the scheme `Biodiversity in piper and garcinia and identification of spots of species richness in Western Ghats (using GIS and molecular markers).' There are two posts. The basic qualification for the first post is M.Sc. (Botany) preferably with specialisation in plant taxonomy. The work involves extensive surveys and periodic stays in forest areas. The selected person will be posted at the farm at Peruvannamuzhi. Work experience in plant biodiversity conservation related projects and experience with GIS and other computer software are desirable. The basic qualification for the second post is M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry\Biochemistry. Work experience in analytical laboratories and experience in plant biochemistry\chemo-taxonomy\molecular markers are desirable.
