Hysitron Inc., a leading provider of nano mechanical test instruments for the standard laboratory environment, has opened a research and development centre at the Technopark here.

Thomas J Wyrobek, president, Hysitron Inc., inaugurated the Indian subsidiary earlier this week. The new R&D centre has been set up in a total area of 4,000 sq ft.

The company had recently expanded its product portfolio to quantitative in-site nano-mechanical testers for transmission electron microscopes, Scanning Electron Microscopes and dual-beam Focused Ion Beam/SEMs.

Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark; M. Vasudevan, Senior Manager – Business Development; other Technopark officials and representatives of other Technopark companies were present.

Located in Minneapolis, U.S., Hysitron has funded its growth entirely from instrument sales and contract test services.

The company's core competencies include the skills necessary to design, model, develop, finish engineer, manufacture, market, sell and service advanced technologies comprising automated instrument platforms, sensors, actuators, transducers, controllers, and firmware/software.
