The LIC Employees Union will oppose the government's move to increase foreign direct investment in insurance sector. The two-day meeting of the Ernakulam Division of the association, which concluded here on Monday, said in a resolution that the proposed FDI hike would badly affect the sector. The association urged the government to withdraw from the attempts to pass the insurance Bills. The passage of the Bills would adversely affect the sector, it said.

The meeting elected S. Sreedevi as president, P.B. Baburaj as general secretary and John Mathew as treasurer.
