KANNUR: Kannur University has condoled the demise of its former Vice-Chancellor P.K. Rajan.

Speaking at a condolence meeting at the university Senate Hall on the Mangattuparamba campus, Vice-Chancellor P. Chandramohan said that Dr. Rajan was the driving force behind all the achievements hitherto attained by the university. He said that the university had to complete the programmes started by him.

Pro Vice-Chancellor K. Kunhikrishnan, Syndicate members M.A.H. Khan, V.K. Gireendran, E. Kunhiraman, N. Veeramanikandan, P.V. Thankam and P. Kunhimuhammed, Senate member P. Jayarajan, Physical Education Deputy Director P.T. Joseph, Babu Anto (Kannur University Teachers Collective Forum), A. Sahadevan (Kannur University Employees Union), Babu Chathoth (Kannur University Staff Organisation) spoke.

As a mark of respect to Dr. Rajan, the university would observe one week's mourning. The university also declared holiday on Monday.
