Free education a revolutionary step: KPCC leader

KANNUR: The Madhavrao Scindia Charitable Trust (MSCT) has distributed school uniforms to 1,500 students from 90 schools here.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) general secretary Ajay Tharayil inaugurated the distribution of uniforms to students from financially backward families. He said that free education for students up to 16 years, as envisaged in a forthcoming Bill, was revolutionary as it would end illiteracy in the country.

District Congress Committee president P. Ramakrishnan presided over the function.

Congress leaders A.D. Musthafa, Mambaram Divakaran, K. Surendran, Rasheed Kavvayi, orator Vanidas Elayavur and trust president K. Pramod were also present at the function.
