PATHANAMTHITTA: Two persons were seriously injured when a car carrying them collided with a speeding private bus on TK Road at Varyapuram, near here, on Monday night.

The police identified the injured as Abraham alias Santhosh, 32, of Kandisseril house at Othera near Thiruvalla, and Shanto, 34, of Karinattil house at Piravom.

The police extricated them from the car by cutting open the mangled body of the car. They were rushed to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital, after being given first aid at the Pathanamthitta General Hospital, the police said.

The Pathanamthitta police registered a case.
