Two persons were arrested from a lodge in Thodpuzha on Sunday for allegedly posing as army officials to collect money from candidates attending an army recruitment rally going on at Muttom in the town on the promise of jobs. The Thodupuzha police said Rajendran Nair, 51, of Nettayam in Thiruvanathapuram and Babu, 61, of Kalyan Nagar in Bangalore had collected Rs. 5,000 from a candidate and had been posing as intermediaries for the recruitment.

Candidates from the southern districts are attending the recruitment rally from January 3 to 7. — A Correspondent
