The people of Mahe, on Tuesday, offered tributes to C.H. Gangadharan, Mahe’s own historian and writer, who passed away here on Monday. He was 74. A native of Azhiyur, he was a correspondent with Mathrubhumi for long. He had penned ‘Mayyazhi,’ a book on the freedom struggle of Mahe. This is one of the earliest works on the history of the Union Territory area. He had worked with Viplavam and Pondy Times . He was the editor of Malayalam’s first inland magazine Sulaikha and Kriya . He is survived by his wife and son. The body was kept for the public to pay respects at the municipal ground and cremated at the public cemetery.
