Devikulam range officer R.S. Aneesh Kumar has been transferred on the basis of an inquiry report of the forest Vigilance wing on unauthorised felling of trees from the Bison Valley, located near Munnar.

The report found that various trees such as jack fruit and mango had been cut from cardamom reserves leased to private parties in the Bodimet forest section of the Devikulam range.

The officials of the section had failed to prevent this, the inquiry report cinducted by the Vigilance wing said

The report said that many small trees had been cut and the value was estimated as Rs.18,000.

The principal conservator ordered that the section range officer and other staff should be transferred to minor posts.

Shifted to Munnar

The range officer was moved to the Working Plan Office at Munnar.
