The Department of Education will set up two training centres for teachers of special schools, Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb has said.

The system in government schools for early detection of learning problems had been functioning well. One school in an area was being identified for children with learning problems and teachers were being trained to take proper care of such children, he said at a press conference here on Monday.

This year, Rs.34.46 crore would be spent under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to ensure admissions to children with special needs and to enhance their learning experience.
