: The Police have made elaborate arrangements to regulate traffic in the city on Thursday during the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. They have appealed to the people to wholeheartedly cooperate with the arrangements.

Traffic will be blocked at least half-an-hour before the arrival of the Prime Minister's motorcade. Motorists have to switch of the engines of their vehicles and the driver has to stand out on the road till the motorcade passes. Invitees to the functions attended by the Prime Minister have to arrive at least an hour before the arrival of the Prime Minister.

The police have advised invitees against carrying mobile phones, bags, pens, key chains, umbrellas and other objects to the functions attended by Mr. Manmohan Singh.

The Prime Minister is expected to land at 12 noon and proceed to Raj Bhavan. He will leave Raj Bhavan after lunch at 4 p.m. to give away the Jnanpith award to Prof. O.N.V. Kurup at Women's College. From there, the Prime Minister will proceed to the Chandrasekharan Nair Police Stadium to inaugurate the Kerala Development Congress..

On Saturday, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of Kerala Kaumudi at Kanakkunnu Palace . From there, he will proceed to the Brahmos missile integration centre and later inaugurate the new terminal of the international airport.
