KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode District Committee, Kerala Samsthana Vyapari Vyavasayi Samithi, has urged the Centre not to allow foreign investment in the retail trade sector.

Samithi district president K. Sreedharan and secretary C.K. Vijayan told presspersons here on Saturday that the reported move of the Government to allow foreign investment in the retail sector would jeopardise the trade sector. The move would also affect the industrial and agricultural sectors. The samithi will organise protest programmes in front of Central Government offices in the district on November 23.
