The following are the plays to be staged on Sunday:

King Lear (Adaptation of William Shakespeare’s King Lear)

( Awara Theatre, Uzbekistan)

Director: Ovlyakuli Khodjakulli

A 65-minute play. A solo performance in which the actor tells the story of the Shakespearean tragedy using his voice, eyes, gestures and primitive musical instruments. (Black Box Theatre, 5.30 p.m, 9.00 p.m.)

Akatharo (Rangachethana, Thrissur)

Director: K.V.Ganesh

1 hour 40 minute play in Malayalam. The play deals with the issues of invasion and occupation, modelling on the middle east crisis. (K.T.Muhammad Theatre, 5.00 p.m.)

Automatorium

(Laitrum & David Berga Management)

Director: Loti Loronell & David Berga

A 60-minute play. It is an installation inspired by the fairground attraction of coin-activated automations constructed in the late 19th and 20th centuries. (Bharat Murali auditorium, 7.00 p.m.)

Macbeth

(Teatr Biuro Podrozy)

Director: Pawel Szkotak

A 60- minute play in English, an adaptation of Macbeth’. (G.Omana Vedi, Townhall, 9.00 p.m.)
