KOCHI: The Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) has said that to vote was a sacred duty for all and that the exercise of the franchise should go with proper judgment.

A statement issued by president of the KCBC Major Archbishop Cyril Baselios said here on Thursday that elections were unavoidable in representative democracy and that the legislators represented the rights and demands of the people in the legislature.

The Archbishop said that only those who would work for the holistic and balanced development of the State should be elected. Staff Reporter
