The Kerala State Children's Educational Film Festival 2010 will be held at Thunchan Parambu, Tirur, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The event will mark the third edition of the children's film festival organised by the State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET).

Seven-year-old Asna Aslam, who won this year's national award for the best child actor, will inaugurate the festival on Sunday. Asna is a student at the School for the Blind, Aluva.

Last year's festival held in Kollam was inaugurated by Mani, a child from Sulthan Batheri who won the best actor award for his role in the film ‘Photographer.'

Several film personalities are expected to attend the three-day festival. The festival venue has been named after Adoor Pankajam. The organisers said that it was the government's honour to the actor. The shamiana erected for the delegates has been named after actor M.K. Kamalam.

The four venues where films will be screened have been named after Venu Nagavalli, M.G. Radhakrishnan, Cochin Haneefa, and Gireesh Puthancheri – prominent artistes who died in 2010.

The media centre at the festival venue has been named after actor Sreenath.

SIET director Babu Sebastian said that 210 films produced by or for children would be screened.
