A high-power committee chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday decided that road development, expansion of parking facilities, refurbishing markets and surroundings, greening schemes, and purification of water bodies including the Parvathy Puthanar, will be the thrust areas for the development of the capital city.

Mr. Chandy pointed out at the meeting that the integrated functioning of various departments was needed for this, a press note issued here said.
