Minister for Panchayats and Social Welfare M.K. Muneer has said three model Anganwadis will be started in Attappady for the benefit of children, adolesent girls, and the old people.

Inaugurating a ‘Jana Sabha’ at the Cheerakadavu tribal hamlet in Pudur grama panchayat in Attappady on Sunday, the Minister said one model Anganwadi each would be started in the grama panchayats of Pudur, Agali, and Sholayur.

He said a new building eacg for the existing 172 Anganwadis in the State would be constructed with financial assistance from NABARD. Under the scheme, new buildings for Anganwadis in Attappady would also be constructed.

He said the proposed working women’s hostel in Attappady would be constructed in a period of four months. A PSC examination coaching centre would also be set up in Attappady to help the youth to get government jobs, he said.

The Minister said Jagratha Samithis would be set up in each hamlet to prevent atrocities against women and children.
