District Collector Mini Antony has said that stringent action would be taken against those found guilty of obstructing the supply of cooking gas cylinders.

In a statement, Ms. Antony said punitive action in accordance with the Essential Services Maintenance Act will be taken against those found obstructing the delivery.

Normalising supply

The Collector also said sincere efforts were being made in order to normalise the supply of cylinders.

According to her, it would require at least two weeks to resolve the hiccups at the LPG bottling plant at Upayamperoor.

In addition, the Kottayam unit of the All India LPG Federation has said problems would be addressed and the backlog cleared at the earliest, she said.
