The Hindu-Young World painting contest tomorrow

KOZHIKODE: The Hindu-Young World on-the-spot painting competition 2006 final for juniors (classes IV to VII) and seniors (classes VIII to X) will be held on November 18 at Snehanjali Community Hall in Kozhikode.

All those selected in the preliminary round have been sent call letters for the final. The two-hour competition starts at 9 a.m. The topic will be announced at the venue. The participants should be at the venue at least half-an-hour before the start of the competition and should bring the call letter with them.

The participants will have to bring with them the materials required for painting like pencil, eraser and colouring materials. The drawing sheets will be supplied to them.

Prizes will be distributed to the winners the same afternoon.

Apart from first, second and third prizes, there will be consolation prizes too.

All winners will get a gift hamper from the Lotte BooProo, who is presenting the competition.

The regional sponsor is Sunfeast Biscuits.

K.P. Ramanunny, novelist, will be the chief guest at the function and will distribute the prizes. The Snehanjali Community Hall is near the Aradhana Tourist Home on the Kallai Road.

There has been tremendous response from schools in Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts and from Mahe to the preliminary round of the competition.
