The Hindu Young World painting contest today

The much-awaited day by schoolchildren has arrived. The Hindu Young World painting contest will be held at Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Paroppady, here, on Saturday.

Nearly 450 students from various districts in north Kerala will vie for honours at the event that will start at 9 a.m. Participants have to report at the venue at 8.45 a.m. No spot admission will be allowed.

The competition will be held in two categories — junior (classes 4 to 7) and senior (classes 8 to 10).

Apart from the first, second and third prizes in each category, consolation prizes will also be given away.

The all-India winner from the junior and senior levels will be selected from among the winning entries at the 14 centres across the country where the contest will be held.

The best three paintings will be engraved on the lid of Amrutanjan product.


MIOT Hospitals (CHIME) is the title sponsor for the contest. Amrutanjan Relief Cough and Cold is the national sponsor.

Maaza is the regional beverages sponsor, while the snacks will be sponsored by Green Bamboo, the green house.
