KOCHI: The three-day technical fest, Excel X, organised by the Model Engineering College, Thrikkakkara, is in full swing with the active participation of engineering college students and technocrats.

One of the interesting programmes was a discussion on the education system.

Titled “At.issue!”, the programme discussed the negative and positive aspects of the current education system and possible improvements in the system.

These were evaluated and debated by a panel consisting of T.K. Mani, principal of the IHRD engineering college, Cherthala; Sameer Abdul Azeez, scientist with the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory; V.A. Benny, a freelance web developer; and M.V. Rajesh , assistant professor of MEC.

The programmes were inaugurated by Ajith Patil, Sub-Collector of Ernakulam.

A talk on “Right to Information Act” by Renjith Santhakumaran and another talk by Texas Instruments representative were the highlights of the first day of Excel X. The festival will end on Sunday.
