Various Hindu organisations and the Pandalam Palace have condemned the alleged move by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to shift Devaswom Commissioner P.V. Nalinakshan Nair disregarding the fast advancing pilgrim season at Sabarimala.

Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sanghom vice-president D. Vijayakumar said the move would only lead to administrative problems in the conduct of the annual pilgrimage that begins on November 16. A change of guard at this juncture was not advisable as it would slow down the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. Pandalam Palace managing committee president Ramavarma Raja too criticised the TDB decision to change the commissioner who had initiated steps to streamline the temple administration and to check corruption in the temple administrative body.
