Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Limited, one of India's leading information technology company, has entered into a deal with Technopark for setting up the TCS Global Learning Centre, a state-of-the-art training and development campus, at Technocity, a wing of Technopark coming up at Pallipuram in the outskirts of the city.

Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander signed a deal in this regard with TCS director and CFO S. Mahalingam here recently, in what is touted to be the largest land deal of the IT Park.

The Rs.1,500-crore mega-project is to come up on 82 acres of land.

TCS also made an initial down payment of Rs.75.25 crore soon after signing the lease deed, a statement released by Technopark said.

Mr. Mervin Alexander said the project would put Thiruvananthapuram on the global IT map and would have a positive impact on the economy of the State.
