Thiruvananthapuram: The verdant premises of the Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute at Palode near here will play host to a children's science congress organised by the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP) on May 14 and 15.

The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and the Integrated Rural Technology Centre (IRTC), Palakkad, are co-organisers.

A note issued by the organisers here on Wednesday said the science congress would focus on conservation of biodiversity, in tune with the UN observation of 2010 as the Year of Biodiversity. As many as 150 students selected from district-level competitions, teachers and scientists would participate in the two-day event. TBGRI Director A.Subramaniam will inaugurate the congress on Friday. KSSP State president Kavumbai Balakrishnan will preside. IRTC director K.Sreedharan and R.V.G.Menon will address the students.
