In the wake of recent reports of child abuse, a special task force for child protection will be formed under the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare in all districts, District Collector K.N. Satheesh has said.

They would act as quick-response teams in areas where cases of child abuse were being reported, said Mr. Satheesh, who is also the administrator of the council. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the third phase of ‘Rareeram,’ an awareness workshop on child adoption, held at Thycaud on Thursday. The council would set up a helpline and a 24-hour counselling centre.
