In a memorandum to the Central and State Governments, the council president R.T. Natarajan and general secretary M. Pechimuthu demanded the appointment of a commission to study the problems of Tamil minorities in the district.

It has also demanded the publication of voters' list in Tamil in the Tamil speaking areas.

The council has demanded that 50 per cent seats be reserved for Tamil minorities in the newly started Government College at Kozhinjampara.
