KATTAPPANA: Tamil Nadu will open the shutters of the Mullaperiyar dam on Saturday in view of the Veerapandi festival at Theni, officials said. Water will flow through the Eraichipalam penstock pipes at the rate of about 600 cubic feet per second. Since Tamil Nadu stopped drawing water on March 17, the water level has reached a high level in the dam following the summer rain. The level as on Tuesday was 133 feet. It is the first time that the level has reached so high during April. — A Correspondent
