Union Minister for Human Resource Development Pallam Raju on Sunday gave away tablet computers to students from Ernakulam parliamentary constituency who secured A plus in all subjects in the last SSLC examinations.

The tablet computers were presented at a function held at St. Theresa’s College auditorium. Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs K. V. Thomas initiated the Vidyajyoti education support programme, said a press release here.

Mr. Raju told the gathering that students must use the latest technology to excel in their studies and their careers.

Class XI students of St. Peter’s School, Kumbalanghi, will be given free tablet computers in the second phase of the Vidyajyoti programme, Mr. Thomas said. A total of 266 students were given tablet computers on Sunday, the press release said.
