The district committee of the All Kerala Retail Ration Dealers' Association urged the government to ensure sufficient supply of rice and wheat to cater the need of newly approved ration card holders. In a press release here on Thursday, the association said the Civil Supplies Department was trying to adjust with the available stock without looking into the increased number of consumers. Though over 60,000 new ration cards were allotted in the district in the last three months, no proportional increase was made in the supply of goods, the association said adding that the practice would disrupt the public distribution system. – Staff Reporter
