About 400 Student Police Cadets from all over the district are taking part in a summer camp for the cadets organised by the city police. Cadets get a chance to interact with police officers, take part in physical training programmes, and display their talents at the four-day summer camp.

All the cadets took part in a ‘road run and walk’ on Wednesday morning. The cadets, who are staying at Sacred Heart College at Thevara as part of the camp, put on their running shoes early in the morning and eagerly took part in the training drill. “The Student Police Cadet programme has several objectives. One among them is physical fitness. The morning run exercise will help the children improve their fitness and that is part of the training imparted to each cadet,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police V.M. Muhammed Rafeeque, nodal officer for the programme.

The camp will conclude with a passing-out parade on Friday morning.
