THALAPADY (KASARAGOD): Throngs of devotees, including leaders of political parties, bureaucrats, corporate leaders, women and children, welcomed Jagadguru Sankaracharya Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswamigal at Thalapady bordering the Mangalore-Kasaragod district on Saturday.

The Sringeri Sankaracharya, who is on a four-day visit to the State, was given an official guard of honour at the Viswas Auditorium on his arrival in the evening. He arrived from Udupi via Padubiri in Mangalore.

Padmanabhan, District Congress Committee president Gangadharan Nair and Sri Sarada Sankara Seva Samithi general secretary Kannur P.N.
