E. Sreedharan, Principal Adviser to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC), on Thursday held talks with Union Minister for Urban Development Kamal Nath to sort out the issues over the DMRC taking over the Kochi Metro Rail project works.
Mr. Sreedharan, after meeting Mr. Kamal Nath in New Delhi, said he had briefed the Union Minister about the ambitious project for which the Prime Minister had laid the foundation stone.
He also told the Union Minister about the hurdles that came in the way of the work, following the opposition from the DMRC board.
During the meeting, Mr. Kamal Nath asked for some clarifications and the queries were answered by Mr. Sreedharan. “I am hopeful about the outcome of the meeting with the Union Minister”, Mr. Sreedharan added.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the reservations made by Mr. Kamal Nath on the DMRC taking over the execution of the Kochi Metro Rail project.
