Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran said here on Saturday that the Kerala Sahitya Pravarthaka Cooperative Society (SPCS) was on the path of growth, with the focus on renovating its bookstalls and strengthening marketing wing, besides promoting small and medium publishing houses.

At a press conference here, Mr. Sudhakaran, who took the initiative to revive the society, said it had decided to institute awards for writers.

They would be selected from the works published by the society in the past 25 years, including those under publication. The award would be given in categories including poetry, novel, plays, humour, children's literature, biography and so on.
