Sound pollution

print   ·   T  T

It is creditable to note that Kakkad Spinning Mills at Kannur, a unit of National Textile Corporation (NTC), is poised for rapid growth with the induction of sophisticated machinery and new technology to produce a wide range of yarns for domestic and export markets. However, people living within one kilometre radius of the factory have to bear high decibel sound for 24 hours, including Sundays. The NTC, in consultation with the Kerala Pollution Control Board (PCB), should take measures to keep sound pollution within the tolerable limits.
