Part of an annual seminar series by Devagiri college

The annual national seminar series, ‘Collabre,’ organised by the Social Work department of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, will get under way on the Devagiri CMI Public School campus here on Saturday.

The ninth edition of the two-day event will deliberate on issues relating to ‘Changing perspective in social works’ and ‘Uncovering social realities through unconventional methods,’ among other things, according to a release here.

Contemporary issues

Panchayat and Social Welfare Minister M.K. Muneer will open the seminar.

Presentations on several important concepts will be made and views on contemporary social issues will be discussed at the seminar.

Kerala State Child Line Forum convener Fr. Joy James will deliver the keynote address.

Information technology and social work, Domestic violence: need for social intervention, Corporate social responsibility: problems and prospects, Social work amidst tribes in perspective of social health, Relevance of social work in development sectors, and Social action for environment protection are some of the topics for discussion during the seminar, according to a press release issued here.
