M.K. Raghavan, MP, inaugurates valedictory function

Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, has won the overall championship in both high school and higher secondary school categories, with 112 points and 149 points respectively, in the 51 {+s} {+t} Revenue District School Arts Festival.

St. Joseph's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School and Ilahiya School, Kappad, have topped the UP section with 40 points. The runners-up in the UP, high school and higher secondary school categories respectively are Memunda UP School with 35 points, Presentation Higher Secondary School with 94 points and St. Joseph's Anglo Indian HSS with 95 points.

The Kozhikode city sub-district, with a total score of 186, has pushed Koyilandy (168) to the second position in the UP section. But Koyilandy beat Kozhikode city in the high school section with a score of 386 as against the latter's 355. In the higher secondary school section, Kozhikode city gained advantage over the Chevayur sub-district with 502 points as against the latter's 447. In the Sanskrit Fest held on three stages at the Zamorin's Higher Secondary School, the Meladi sub-district retained the championship. It scored 93 points as against Kozhikode city's 84.

In the Arabic Fest held on two stages at the BEM Higher Secondary School, the Nadapuram sub-district has come first in the UP section with 63 points. In the high school section, the Nadapuram sub-district shared the first place with Feroke, scoring 117 points each.

M.K. Raghavan, MP, inaugurated the valedictory function of the fete on Thursday. and district panchayat president K. Jameela presided over the function.
