Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will launch ‘Shilpa Nagaram' on the Kozhikode beach at 5 p.m. on June 7.

According to a press release here on Sunday, under the project, works of renowned sculptors would be placed at different parts of the city. The Kerala Lalithakala Akademi and the District Tourism Promotion Council are executing the project.

Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar will be the chief guest at the function which would be presided over by Culture Minister K.C. Joseph. M.K. Raghavan, MP; District Collector K.V. Mohan Kumar; Akademi chairman K.A. Francis; and secretary Sreemoolanagaram Mohan will be present. The project will be the first of its kind in the country. Twelve works of sculptors such as K.S. Radhakrishnan, V.K. Rajan, K.P. Soman, Joseph M. Varghese, Johns Mathew, Hochimin, Advaita Gadanaik, Rajendra Tikku, Deepika Saha, Pradeep Kampathalli, Nandu Bihari Das, and Sourav Jana would be displayed under the project, the release added.
