Activists of the Students Federation of India (SFI) will take out a march to the Cheruthuruthy police station demanding the arrest of Nirmal Madhav, a final year student of Mechanical Engineering course at Malabar College of Engineering and Technology, Desamangalam, who faces charges of ragging a junior student.

The police have registered a case against him.

On the basis of a complaint by Sadiq, 19, a second-year graduate student, the college had appointed a three-member commission to investigate the allegations.

According to the complaint, Nirmal Madhav had assaulted and threatened Sadiq several times between October 16, 2012, and February 13, 2013. College authorities had handed over to the police a copy of the complaint and the report of the commission.

Nirmal Madhav had joined the Malabar College of Engineering and Technology, Desamangalam, after he was forced to leave the Government Engineering College, Kozhikode, following violent protest by the SFI. The SFI had alleged that he had secured admission to the GEC through fraudulent means.

He faces charges of ragging a junior at Malabar College of Engineering and Technology.
