SFI takes out march
Students under the banner of the Students Federation of India (SFI) took out a march to the University of Calicut on Wednesday pressing various demands, including redressal of the shortfalls in the single-window admission system and an investigation into the alleged corruption in allotting the university’s centres abroad. A strong police posse stopped the march in front of the university gate. The protestors sat on the road and blocked vehicular traffic along the National Highway-17 for about 30 minutes. Those who came to the university on different purposes were put to difficulty as the protestors laid siege to the university entrance. The protestors also demanded that strong action be initiated against those responsible for the disappearance of answer scripts in Brennen College. SFI State secretary T.P. Bineesh inaugurated the march. SFI district president M. Mansoor presided.
