: The crew of seven Palliyodams (snake-boats) partook of the ritual feast offered to the presiding deity at Sree Parthasarathy Temple on the banks of the Pampa on Saturday.
The oarsmen reached the temple ghats in their Palliyodams by 11 a.m. They were received at the temple ghats by the devotees who offered the feast to the deity.
The Vallasadya was offered to the Palliyodams of Thekkemuri-East, Venpala, Malakkara, Muthavazhy, Mundankavu, Edappavoor, and Mallappuzhasserry, said Ratheesh R.Mohan, secretary of the Palliyoda Seva Sanghom, which organises the feast as well as the snake-boat regatta, Uthrittathi Vallamkali.
Mr. Ratheesh said the Sanghom had got bookings for as many as 490 Vallasadya this year, which, he said, was an all-time record.
This year, the season of Vallasadya began on July 31.
The 64-day season at Sree Parthasarathy Temple will come to a close on October 2.
