The process of issuing passports will become more hassle-free for applicants with the opening of four new Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) under the Regional Passport Office in Kozhikode, Regional Passport Officer P.M. Madhusoodanan has said.

Addressing a face-to-face programme organised by the Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) here on Wednesday, Mr. Madhusoodanan said the regional service centres would be opened in Kozhikode, Vadakara, Kannur, and Payyannur.

According to Mr. Madhusoodanan, applicants will get their passports within three days with the opening of the new centres.

The application process could be cleared within 15 minutes, he said.

Online processing

Mr. Madhusoodanan said applications would be processed online with the help of special staff appointed from the Regional Passport Office. At the national-level, there were around 77 such PSKs, he said.

Chamber president T.P. Ahammedkoya presided. Assistant passport officer Nancy J. Cherayath and former president of the chamber K. Moidu were present. The passport officer also cleared the doubts of individuals who attended the programme.

Kannur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, and Payyannur to get new centres.
