Week-long restriction on visitors

NEDUMBASSERY: Visitor's entry into the domestic and international terminals of the Cochin International Airport will remain banned from January 22 as part of tightening the security arrangements in view of the Republic Day celebrations. The week-long ban will be lifted on January 28.

A special security meeting, chaired by Airport Director A.C. K. Nair, was held at the airport on Wednesday to assess the security arrangements.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and other security agencies here are keeping vigil following a Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) direction instructing to step up security measures in airports across the country.
