Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress MP Sachin Pilot on Thursday asserted that the Congress party's secular credentials were unquestionable as it had been able to reach out to all sections of the people in the country.
Replying to a question on the Congress party's pro-minority positions, Mr. Pilot, who is the youngest MP, said his party had an all-India presence and was committed to upholding the interests of all sections, including the minority communities. He said the Central leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) had admitted that the party's State unit was facing complex internal problems, with two of its senior leaders, Pinarayi Vijayan and V.S. Achuthanandan, locked in a power struggle. Such being the case, he wondered how the Left Democratic Front could provide a stable Government.
Asked why the Central leaders of the Congress were shy of attacking the Left leaders while campaigning in Kerala, Mr. Pilot said the imperatives of the Central leadership were different.
