The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) took out marches to the residences of Minister for Panchayats M.K. Muneer and Minister for Rural Development K.C. Joseph on Thursday, accusing them of upsetting the implementation of the Indira Awas Yojana in the State. SDPI State general secretary Nazrudeen Elamaram inaugurated the march to Mr. Joseph’s residence, and another State general secretary M.K. Manoj Kumar inaugurated the march to Dr. Muneer’s residence. If the State government fails to repeal its decision to slash the allocation for minorities in the scheme, the party will intensify its agitation, they said. — Special Correspondent
