An attempt to screen ‘Papilio Buddha’, a film that was denied certification by the regional office of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), parallel to the 17{+t}{+h}International Film Festival of Kerala, did not materialise here on Thursday.

The makers of the movie had planned to hold a parallel screening of the film at the Co Bank Tower after the Central Appellate Tribunal of the CBFC agreed to certify the film for screening for adults (‘A’ Certificate). However, with police not giving permission for the screening reportedly, authorities at the Tower refused space to hold the screening though there were a few people at the venue who demanded to see the movie.
