Applications for the Chevening Rolls-Royce Science and Innovation Leadership Programme are now open until November 15. A press note issued recently here by the British Council said the 15-week programme would present candidates with a challenging opportunity at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, to explore innovation and science policy, from an academic, practical and a personal perspective.
The programme includes a wide range of modules including bridging pure research and business/scientific entrepreneurship, practical processes of innovation, commercialisation of research and technology transfer. The course is aimed at some of India's brightest scientists, business people and public servants, the press note said.
The ideal candidate for this programme should be a mid-career professional with substantial experience in the fields of science, technology, innovation, science media or public administration. The programme is from March to July 2011.

The creation of new scholarships for science and innovation — supported by the U.K.-based firm Rolls Royce — was announced by British Prime Minister David Cameron on July 28. It is being hosted by the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
Chevening is the U.K. government's flagship scholarship scheme, aimed at future leaders, opinion formers and decision-makers. The programme is funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and managed by the British Council. Chevening annually awards around 2,000 scholarships to students across the world to study in the U.K., the press note added.
