KOLLAM: The Panmana Ashramam near here will observe the centenary of the satyagraha movement started by Gandhiji with various programmes on Friday and Saturday. Gandhiji was at the Ashramam on January 19 and 20 in 1934.

The programme is being organised in association with the Indian Council of Gandhian Studies, said reception committee chairman E. Yunus Kunju here on Thursday.

Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran would inaugurate the programme at a function at the Ashramam at 6 p.m. on Friday. Abdul Wahab, MP, would deliver the keynote address. The seminars in this connection would be inaugurated by Minister for Food and Civil Supplies C. Divakaran on Saturday.

The valedictory function at 4 p.m. would be inaugurated by Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran. DCC president Sooranad Rajashekaran would deliver the keynote address.
