KANNUR: Works estimated to cost Rs.110 crore, under the Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme (TRP), are being completed in the district, according to an official press release issued here on Wednesday.

The Department of Ports here was implementing a major chunk of the projects including works in the fisheries, port and tourism categories with a total outlay of Rs.35 crore, it said.

The works at Muzhappilangad, Dharmadam, Meenkunnu and Thalassery beaches were progressing, it said.

It said the Azhikkal Fisheries Harbour development work, estimated to cost Rs.2.5 crore, had already been completed.

The works on increasing the depth of the basin of the Mappila Bay Fisheries Harbour here, at a cost of Rs.2.8 crore, had also been finished, it said.

Renovation of nine roads at an estimated cost of Rs.3 crore was also being done.
