Jose K. Mani, MP, on Wednesday said that he would allocate Rs. 40 lakh from his MPLAD (Members of Parliament Local Area Development) fund towards the development of the KSRTC Bus station at Ettumanoor.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Mani said that the bus station, which is situated on land owned by the Ettumanoor panchayat, faced various obstacles while proposals were made to develop the basic amenities and services for commuters.

Ownership transfer

As the result of a petition, the copies of which were forwarded to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Finance Minister K.M. Mani and Registration Minister T.M. Jacob, it has been decided to transfer the ownership rights of the land to the KSRTC and reduce the expenses like stamp duty and registration charges that could occur during the agreement.

The aforementioned developments are bound to alleviate the troubles faced by the passengers who use the facilities of the bus station.
