: E.C. Satheesan, convener of the Comtrust Weaving Factory Workers Union, who returned to the city after staging a satyagraha in front of the Secretariat to press for government takeover of Comtrust Factory was given a rousing reception at the Kozhikode railway station on Monday.

Mr. Satheesan, who had launched an indefinite fast on October 25, called off his agitation on November 4 after Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty appealed to him to end his satyagraha. At a meeting held to felicitate him, leaders of the Comtrust Weaving Factory Workers Union claimed that Mr. Satheesan had called off his fast following a written assurance from the Minister. They warned that the agitation would be resumed if the Minister failed to keep his word.
